Rosa Jolma, Researcher, United Kingdom/Finland

Rosa is a Wildlife Population Health resident in the European College of Zoological Medicine. Her residency programme is based at the Zoological Society of London and Royal Veterinary College. Her research focuses on virology and wildlife epidemiology. Currently, she studies secretion patterns of paramyxoviruses in African fruit bats, as part of a larger Ghana-UK collaboration. Rosa’s ultimate goal is the evidence based mitigation of disease risks enabling conflict-free co-existence of humans and bats. Rosa holds a Licentiate in Veterinary Medicine from the University of Helsinki and a postgraduate certificate in Conservation Medicine (University of Edinburgh).
