Louise is a Project Coordinator and Research Technician for Bats and Bugs at the Institute of Zoology. This project has been investigating the infection and spillover dynamics of zoonotic bat viruses, focusing particularly on henipaviruses, Lagos bat virus and filoviruses. Her main area of interest is the study of disease threats to wildlife, particularly in wildlife conservation. Louise has always been passionate about diagnostics and having studied biochemistry and starting her scientific career in forensics, she is also interested in seeing how techniques can be transferred to other areas of wildlife epidemiological research.
