Barbara Han, PI, USA

Barbara Han is a disease ecologist at the Cary Institute of Ecosystem Studies in Millbrook, NY. Her research seeks to expand predictive capacity for zoonoses, particularly those originating from mammals. Research in her group seek to make actionable predictions about zoonotic reservoir hosts and pathogens, and to investigate the dynamical consequences of traits that distinguish them. Her group applies data science, machine learning, and mapping techniques to triangulate sources of zoonotic infection and risk for human spillover. Barbara received her PhD from Oregon State University and completed consecutive NSF and NIH postdoctoral fellowships at UGA Odum School of Ecology.
